Spotted Friend

Right after I first took up crocheting again (its been years and years),  a friend of mine asked me if I could make a giraffe for her niece for her birthday.  She said she just loves giraffes and has a whole collection.  I had been doing a few amigurumi items from the few books that I had, so I was getting the hang of going around in circles, counting rows and such.  The problem was that I didn't have a pattern for a giraffe, so I decided to make one up myself.  Well, this is the little guy all finished.  He is truly one of a kind because I didn't write down what I did.  This was my first attempt at making up my own creature.  I did this before I did Mike and Sully from Monster's Inc.  I think he's pretty cute, but, then again I'm biased, all mother's think there babies are cute!

My Favorite Bowls

My favorite little bowls that a good friend of mine gave me for my birthday.  Little did she know at the time, but, they are the perfect colors for my kitchen.  They sit right on top of my stove and make me smile and think of her every time I see them.  Thank you JJ.
See how cute they are?

Don't even get me started on the measuring cups I got from
West Elm!

Super Cute Amigurumi

I found these cute ami doll patterns by Owlishly on Etsy. She sells several patterns, all of them are just adorable. I really can't decide which one is my favorite. There is the panda and bumblebee, but, there is also a ladybug, a bunny and a skunk! Decisions, decisions.

Cute & Easy Crochet

I've decided to get on the Nicki Trench bandwagon and get this adorable book, Cute & Easy Crochet.  It truly is cute.  I plan at some point to make everything in this book.  I've finished 1 project already and am working on 2 others.  The colors she chooses are amazing and everything just looks so inviting.

Here is the Floral Purse.

This is the one that I made for my glasses.

This is the Hook Holder.  It opens up and has really cute fabric inside with little pockets for all of your crochet hooks.  I just couldn't get a good pic of the inside.

Here is the one that I started.

This is an amazing blanket called Springtime Throw.  This picture truly doesn't do it justice.

These are the colors I chose for my throw.  (I think from now on I will take my pics outside, they all look so dull.)  Anyways, I have about 40 squares done of the 432 needed for this throw!  I better get to work. What I want to make next is...

...these cute little Russian Babushka Dolls.  Aren't they just lovely?

The Yarn Shop Closed :(

The yarn shop near me closed today.  So sad.  But, I got some really cool stuff at a really good price.  The bad part was that I kept eyeing the cream yarn on the end, there were about 10 skeins and I only grabbed 2 of them.  I got to the car and really looked at the yarn and figured out how cheap they really were and raced back inside the store to buy the rest and of course there was a woman at the register already paying for the lot!  I could just kick myself.  Oh well, you live and learn.

Little Monster

I made this little monster for my grandson.  He was totally obsessed with Monsters, Inc. at the time.  This little guy is my interpretation of Sully.  I used Sensations Angel hair in turquoise and medium purple so, he is super soft.  The baby just loved him.  I also made Mike but, I can't find his pic anywhere!

First Post

I've decided that for my first post I will show a pic from our favorite place to be, SAN DIEGO!
